Hyundai Elantra: Lubrication System / Oil Filter & Oil Cooler

Repair procedures
Removal and Installation
1.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
3.
Drain the coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
4.
Drain the engine oil.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
5.
Disconnect the oil pressure temperature sensor connector (A).

6.
Disconnect the oil cooler hoses (A), and then remove the oil filter & cooler assembly (B).
Tightening torque :
22.6 - 27.5 N.m (2.3 - 2.8 kgf.m, 16.6 - 20.3 lb-ft)

7.
Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal.
8.
Refill with the engine oil.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
9.
Fill the radiator with coolant.
Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
   
The coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
